Sam Higgins

Sam is the Team Leader of CROPS and heads up our secondary schools work. He is a regular guest speaker/contributor for school assemblies and available to lead spiritual development days with our Breathe Resource and Open Resource.

The Breathe session today was actually quite interesting. To be honest, the whole of the session made me re-think things - like about myself, for example.

Secondary School Resources

CROPS currently provides a number of resources to secondary schools for example:

  • Thought provoking assemblies for secondary schools linked to Fundamental British Values. Please see the bottom of this page for assemblies that you can download/stream for use in school.
  • Spiritual Development resources for collapsed timetable days such as 'Breathe' and 'Open' both ideal for secondary SMSC, RE, or wellbeing days.
  • Chaplaincy and mentoring (click here for CROPS Mentoring Project).
  • Hosting unique RE resources such as the 'GSUS LIVE' multimedia mobile classroom - that explores the teaching of Jesus.
The paper shredder activity really helped my past grief that I couldn’t let go of.

About our assemblies

CROPS currently offers assemblies in-person but also virtually if required. Our assemblies are engaging and suitable for a wide ranging audience, applicable to the lives of all students and staff whether they hold personal religious beliefs or not.

Our content upholds Fundamental British Values themes, and makes a valued contribution to the Social Moral Spiritual Cultural educational aims of schools.
